About Us

Where it all started

It started as all good stories should, with pineapple wine! The only man on a wine making course figuring out the process of fermentation and ABV. What has this got to do with brewing ales you ask? Well, after getting legless on country wine, I decided I’d give home brewing a go instead… How hard could it be? I love drinking ales and the pineapple wine wasn’t hitting the spot.

Shed set-up 2015

That was in 2015, brewing in the shed at the bottom of the garden with my two red Border Collies, RedDog came to be! and the name stuck. That hobby then turned into a career change, putting my skills to the test in a commercial brewery. Working across all aspects of production within a great team, I went on to become Head Brewer, and together the brewery won Champion Beer of Nottingham 2023. I jumped at the chance to do a few collabs and people bloody loved it! With great reviews I thought why not I’m going to start my own brewery and here we are! I’m ploughing my passion for real ales into a brand-new venture.

It’s a great tasting pint from grain to glass

Taste is everything, we’re hand producing traditional real ales using quality ingredients, every pint is made with love for you to enjoy at your leisure. Alongside our core beers, we’ll be producing seasonal specials available in casks, pins and bottles.

Even the cows love it!

Sustainability is an important part of our business, we use green energy, reuse water for clean down and spent grain goes to the local farm for cattle feed, our hops also go to the nearby community allotments for mulching. If you’re enjoying a cheeky beer from a bottle, do us a favor and please recycle.
